"The sacrament of Matrimony establishes a perpetual and exclusive bond between the spouses. God himself seals the consent of the spouses. Therefore, a marriage which is ratified and consummated between baptized persons can never be dissolved. Furthermore, this sacrament bestows upon the spouses the grace necessary to attain holiness in their married life and to accept responsibly the gift of children and provide for their education." The Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (346)
Any couple who wishes to get married at St. Teresa's must contact the rectory (Tel: 1.212.233.0233) at least six months in advance to begin the marriage preparation process. This process consists of a series of meetings with the priest preparing the couple for marriage, the collection and completion of certain Church documents, as well as participation in one of the Marriage Preparation Programs mandated by the Archdiocese of New York. For more information on these programs, go to: http://www.flrl.org/
At least one member of the couple must be Catholic in order to get married at St. Teresa's.
